Six Sigma

Six Sigma is a data-driven methodology and set of tools aimed at improving processes within an organization to minimize defects and variations, thereby enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing customer satisfaction. Developed initially by Motorola in the 1980s and popularized by General Electric under Jack Welch in the 1990s, Six Sigma emphasizes rigorous measurement and statistical analysis to systematically identify and eliminate process defects and inefficiencies.
